The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Automatic 41mm Watch's Standout feature - Haute Horologe
The Royal Oak was the first steel luxury timepiece, created in 1972 by Gérald Genta (1931-2011).
It has evolved over the previous forty years into an iconic representation of the illustrious Swiss company
Audemars Piguet. AP is one of a select few Swiss watch brands at the top of the market, located in the
Vallée de Joux and still owned by the founding family. And if you’re looking for Audemars Piguet Watches,Preowned Ap Watches in Dubai, or a Preowned Luxury Watch Shop in Dubai,
the ideal choice would be Haute Horologe.
Many rivals attempted to counter the Royal Oak when it initially appeared, but none did so as successfully
as Patek Philippe with the Nautilus (originally launched in 1976). Even though both the Royal Oak and
Nautilus remain in production, aficionados and collectors continue to debate which one is superior.
Due to its 39 mm diameter, which was deemed enormous when the original Royal Oak was released, it
was given the moniker "Jumbo." The Royal Oak was eventually made in a 36 mm case size, and then,
up until last year, in a 39 mm diameter. The logo was used in place of the 12 o'clock hour marker on the
outgoing 39 mm manufacturing model, which lacked an in-house produced dial. As of SIHH 2012, the
case size of the Royal Oak is now either 41 mm or 37 mm, with the 39 mm size being reserved only for
the Royal Extra-Thin "Jumbo" and Royal Oak Skeleton variants.
The AP logo has been added to the dial of the new Royal Oak just below the 12 o'clock marker. This
change has allowed the designers to add a real hour marker for 12 o'clock, in this case, a faceted whitegold applied double baton marker, which is a significant aesthetic improvement. The new Royal Oak is
only marginally bigger than its predecessor, measuring 41 x 9.80 mm, but as I already mentioned, the
dial has significantly improved. Additionally, something not previously available in this collection is the
case back is now open.
The only hands on a Royal Oak Jumbo are the hours, minutes, and date. This version "does" have a
date, hours, minutes, and a central seconds hand. Additionally, it contains a stop-second function,
which enables you to halt the balance and the second's hand in order to fix the time more precisely.
This feature is useless without a seconds hand. So, to get your hands on a luxury watch,
